Day 1
ARRIVAL AT KOCHI & EXPLORE KOCHI
You will be welcomed at Kochi International airport by our company representative. Spend the day at Kochi, one of the finest natural harbours and the oldest European settlement in India. The cultural mosaic here is shaped by a long history of visitors making for a remarkable heritage city. You start your walking tour of Fort Kochi at the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India and explore the imposing Santa Cruz basilica built by the Portuguese. It will be fun to observe the iconic and still-in-use Chinese fishing nets and even try using them yourself. Stroll past the shops along Jew Street shopping for antiques and spices and also visit the Jewish Synagogue and the Dutch Palace. Enjoy dinner at one of the exquisite seafood restaurants in the city. Day 2
KOCHI TO MUNNAR (140 KM 4.45 HRS)
The dramatic Munnar hills, a place that will forever keep you under its spell. In this former hill getaway of the colonial British, soak up the tranquillity and head out to the verdant tea plantations to taste the local brew. This morning, you will drive up through the hills on the way to Munnar. Stop to take a snap of the amazing vistas and views near Attukad and Cheeyapara waterfalls on your way here. Check-in to your resort and relax for a while. The afternoon would be a great time to visit the tea museum where you could explore artefacts from the colonial times besides witnessing the tea processing procedure. Day 3
EXPLORE MUNNAR
This morning set out to explore other attractions in Munnar. Trek along the Eravikulam national park. The terrain in the park is high altitude grasslands and features Anamudi, the highest peak (2695m) south of the Himalayas. Get on one of the government operated mini-buses and take a mild trek to amazing vantage points along with lots of endangered Niligiri Tahrs. As the day unfolds take a few snaps at photo point before reaching Mattupetty dam. If nothing else.scream at the top of your voice at echo point and hear your voice resounding through the hills.Relax for the evening at your resort
Day 4
MUNNAR TO THEKKADY (120 KM 3.45 HRS)
Enjoy your breakfast at Munnar and by 9 am get on a journey to Thekkady, home to one of the best managed wildlife reserves in India. With a 100-year-old artificial lake and its setting in the thickly forested Western Ghats (UNESCO world heritage site), Periyar will not disappoint with a range of activities and wildlife spotting on offer. Check-in to your resort, relax for a while and soak in the tropical garden landscape. The evening boat ride through the lake Periyar will give you a chance to spot wildlife by the river side. Arrive at the counter to make the evening ride. Relax for the night at your resort
Day 5
THEKKADY TO KUMARAKOM (130 KM 3.45 HRS)
Today venture out to east Kumarakom, an idyllic village set in a maze of complex lush waterways marked by its gentle pace of life. This day of the tour has been set aside for you to relax Check into your heritage resort, totally recreated from traditional Kerala style homes. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the scenic environs by the lake side. You may choose to lounge by the pool or pamper yourself with an ayurveda treatment. The evenings are best spent playing games or by the lake side soaking in the backwater sunset
Day 6
ON A HOUSEBOAT IN ALLEPPEY (30 KM 1 HRS)
This morning, take a short journey through backwater villages to reach the town of Alleppey. The ‘Venice of the East’ as it is called supports a vibrant village life along the shorelines with paddy fields and palms. After traditional lunch on your private houseboat, the cruise will take you through splendid waterways of narrow canals. You will get opportunities to explore village life and the country side. Afternoons are best spent sunbathing on the deck or lounging in the shade while socialising with your crew. Day 7
ALLEPPEY TO KOVALAM (190 KM 5.45 HRS)
Today you will travel to a place where you will find some of the most popular beaches in the country. Famed for its ayurveda centres with enough opportunities for adventure junkies, Kovalam will not disappoint. Sunset by the seaside: Explore lighthouse beach This evening is free for you to spend time by the beach side. The atmosphere will be laid back and relaxed. With lots of options around, consider dining at some of the open air restaurants around or shopping for souvenirs. Relax for the night at your beach resort
Day 8
EXPLORE TRIVANDRUM CITY/ KOVALAM
Explore the city of Trivandrum, a city which showcases the heritage of Kerala like none else. The evening is left free for some more beach time! After breakfast, head to the Padmanabhaswamy temple, the richest temple in the country with antique riches (Entry for Hindus only). After darshan explore the horse palace magnificently crafted wooden palace famous for its house sculpture work. Later, revel at the oil paintings of the raja and exquisite collection at Napier Museum. This evening we leave free for you to spend time at leisure by the sea. Walk around the Kovalam, visit some of the other beaches around, watch fishermen at work and enjoy. Relax for the night at your beach resort
Day 9
DEPARTURE FROM TRIVANDRUM
Today will be the last day of your tour. Have a splendid breakfast at your resort and get ready for onward journey. Check out from your resort and head to Trivandrum. Drop back at Airport in the afternoon bidding farewell to god’s own country with memories to last for a life time
